Any tips for surviving the Glow? How many rad pills do I need to take to stop the radiation? Seems I keep dying in one day.
Thank you. :)

I just went down into the glow, and took two pills on the very edge of the map square before it.
Throughout my glow exploration, my radiation resistance in the character screen never went below 100%. Remember that when you're actually in the glow, time moves much more slowly!
To expand on that answer, RadX pills add 50% resistance to radiation.
Thus, you may be okay taking only 1 pill but you need to take it before you enter the square containing the glow.
To be safe, I certainly suggest taking 2 and having 100% radiation resistance.
RadX's effect ends after about a day so do not sleep in the Glow or was time by

A single Rad-X certainly isn't enough if you stay down there a while. The first time I went there I did use only one pill and ended up, well, glowing :) I wasn't aware that the 100% radiation resistance you get really means "100%", unlike the skills which go higher than that. So simply take two and you won't suffer from any radiation. I think you can still take a little radiation, but it's nothing you won't get rid of with one RadAway.
Also make sure you check your radiation resistence (it's listed on the character screen) if you're staying in The Glow for several hours, for example because you're reading some books. In that case your resistence might drop, so taking an additional Rad-X with you isn't a bad idea.
Lastly you can check your radiation level at any time using a Geiger counter. You could already have one, but there is also one to be found in The Glow.

Good tips. There is a sealed door down there and that's where I got stuck till I realized I had too much radiation (better off going to a previous save game). Doesn't dynamite or plastic explosive blow up such doors?
Thanks. :)
I find it somewhat humorous that a simple pill can completely negate the effects of exposure to radiation. :)

I think that door can be blown open, yes. Alternatively it can be opened if you have enough strength. As I only had 5 I simply used a Buffout drug to gain strength and was then able to open the door. The nice sideeffect of this, which I didn't think about, was that I could then also carry a whole lot more, so I could loot The Glow more efficiently :D But beware, very addictive..
