I'm inside a base (I was taken there) and there is a huge fight where i'm getting my butt kicked but I'll never know because no matter how many times I load it up within 1 min the game crashes.
Anyone else had a problem at this point?

So if I'm guessing correctly.. You were in Necropolis and was taken to see the lieutenant by a super mutant there, right?
Then that would be the military base. And you won't win that fight, trust me.
Can't say I have any idea why.. This doesn't happen anywhere else?

Did you save during combat? That's generally a very bad idea in the Fallouts, it tends to cause situations just like this.

Thats exactly what I did. And yes the military base. Is this NOT the way I was suppose to do things?

Yeah, you should probably avoid getting sent to the military base. Odds are your gear isn't really up to snuff at that point in the game.
