Do the perks 'Bonus HtH Attacks' and 'Bonus HtH Damage' only affect you if you're fighting without *any* weapons (like fists only)? Or does it also apply to close range weapons like a knife? The manual makes it seem like the former, but then I don't really see any perks available to you for using close range weapons... It doesn't seem to make sense. And, out of the following perks, which would you recommend if you had to take 1 or 2 before the next perk level comes up and (according to the manual) you no longer have them available.
1) Earlier Sequencing
2) Night Vision
3) Swift Learner
Thanks a lot.

Bonus Hand to Hand Damage is a perk in Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel and Lionheart.
* Requirements:
o Level 3, Agility 6, Strength 6 (Fallout games)
o Level 5, Agility 6, Strength 6, Unarmed 50 (Lionheart)
* Ranks: 3
* Benefit:
o Experience in unarmed combat has given you the edge when it comes to damage. You cause +2 points of damage with hand-to-hand and melee attacks for each level of this perk. (Fallout, Fallout 2, Lionheart)
o You cause 15% more damage with hand-to-hand and melee attacks for each level of this perk. (Fallout Tactics)
+ NOTE: The perk adds +2 points of damage as with the previous two games, contrary to what is written in the description.
Bonus Hand to Hand Attacks is a Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics Perk.
* Requirements: AG 6, Level 6 (Fallout) or Level 15 (Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics)
* Ranks: 1
* Benefit: You have learned the secret arts of the East, or you just punch faster. In any case, your hand-to-hand attacks cost 1 AP less to perform.
In any case, I would take Earlier Sequencing as you would "lose" perks , according to the Fallout Wiki. Night Vision could be useful but if you're having trouble in darker areas you could just throw flares around since they are as common as dirt almost. Earlier Sequencing means you start before your opponents and that means you could kill one or two of them before they start shooting at you. Your mileage may vary, though.

Thanks very much for the perks advice.
As far as the 'HtH' Damage goes, just want to make sure because the statement is a bit self contradicting. You wrote:
"Experience in unarmed combat has given you the edge when it comes to damage. You cause +2 points of damage with hand-to-hand and melee attacks for each level of this perk."
It says in the statement 'unarmed'. Later it says 'hand to hand *AND* 'melee'. That would seem to indicate that it does give +2 to a knife, also. Is this correct? Don't want to seem too dense here, but it is a bit confusing. Thanks.

Yes it will also do knife damage, Its poorly worded if it said "Experience in melee combat has given you the edge when it comes to damage. You cause +2 points of damage with hand-to-hand and melee attacks for each level of this perk." it would be alot less confusing, but it will increase your Melee attack and not just unarmed with fists.
Its a little better worded on this site. The 6th one in the list.

Great... OK, thanks to both of you for clearing that all up. Really appreciate it.
