I have been recently encountering random crashes (with DLC specifically) with Fallout New Vegas on Windows 10 but was unable to find someone who had a similar issue to me based on a quick Google search.

For starters, my system is an Acer Aspire GX-785 with an Intel Core i5-7400 CPU @ 3.00 GHz processor, and my version of New Vegas is from GOG.com. The game actually runs pretty smoothly for the most part (no crashes at all in the vanilla, non-DLC area of the game), but does encounter some crashes in the DLC areas (Dead Money and Honest Hearts are the only ones I’ve played through thus far). The crashes that occurred in Dead Money were mostly limited to one specific location in the game (the Sierra Madre casino floor), but it did crash once while entering the Puesta del Sol Switching Station. I know that New Vegas DLC is slightly more unstable than the base game, so I initially just shrugged it off as that being the case.

Fast forwarding to Honest Hearts, the game begins crashing more frequently, often in the course of playing the game normally. These crashes do not have any common factors associated with them (although the majority of them have occurred shortly after fast traveling within Zion), and the crash occurs as if I had paused the game, then went to Exit -> Quit Game right in the middle of playing it. No error messages of any sort show up, and GOG Galaxy backs up my saves as if I had done exactly that.

I am running no additional mods with this game (playing the Ultimate Edition of NV “off the shelf”), and the DLCs load in this order: all of the pre-order armor packs (Caravan, Mercenary, etc.), “Old World Blues”, “Lonesome Road”, “Gun Runner’s Arsenal”, “Honest Hearts”, and “Dead Money”. Since the last crash, I have verified my game files with GOG, but haven’t tried the game again to see if that fixes the issue. I am also considering running the game with Windows 8 compatibility mode on to see if that fixes things, but wanted to make sure no other known fixes exist before doing so.

Thank you in advance for your help!

I think there is some instability in the game( no matter where you buy it). On two playthroughs, It was reasonably stable for me, except for: Old World Blues. That crashed enough to annoy me each time.
