It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I'm running Windows Vista but I am unable to get the Dler to work. I've tried turning off user settings, tried opening it as an admin I've even gone as far as running the DLer in compatability mode and nothing works.
The DLer opens to the task bar but thats it. I can't bring it out to the desktop to login. I've been trying to DL both games via the browser but each time I do the files come "corrupted". I'm becoming increasingly dissatisfied with GOG which is not good. I'm a new customer and really want to like the program and site but its not looking promising.
If anyone has any insight as to how I can obtain the two games I've purchased I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

Just to try it out, I downloaded both games few minutest ago without a single problem. I am using Firefox 3.5 and downloaded them via browser. No corruption or anything.Maybe there is a problem with your internet service provider?

Nope. My ISP is fine. Every other program I have that I use to DL games and other programs works fine. Its this POS GOG.com program.
I am able to DL through my browser but I have to do it a few times because for some reason they DL corrupted. Each time I reDL it copies files it "forgot" to copy during the original attempt.
Not only that but I finally got FO 1 to DL and play. Turns out that even though I can't physically use the GOG DLer and installer, its still being used when I install the game. What is even more frustrating to me is that when I reinstalled GOG for the 12th time I specifically told it to install to my "C" drive; just like I did everytime I installed it. Which happens to be my games drive. Well it did. But only partially, for some F'd up reason GOG has a fetish with my Windows directoy; "F" drive. It still went ahead and installed itself to both my "C" and "F" drive.
My question now is, can I move GOG and all related files off my "F" and onto my "C" drive where I want them? I honestly do not like this program, its not user friendly, its asks where you would like things installed but goes ahead and puts things where it feels like putting them anyway. Oh, and the fact that it automatically assumes you want a shortcut placed on your desktop is mindboggling; I don't install anything to my desktop...ever. I don't care what it is, it very rare I install things to my desktop. When I do its usually a program not a shortcut. Ever.
Do I have to use GOG to DL, install and play the games I buy off of GOG? Because if I don't have to; its being uninstalled. This program is garbage.
What internet browser are you using? The gog downloader program is completely optional, you can use other download manager programs like getright.
Well it could be a problem on gog's end, check and make sure your firewall/ antivirus programs are not interfering with the download of the game.
As for a shortcut on your desktop, it only takes a couple of seconds to delete or move it.
Wow, I absolutely do not understand all that trouble...
You do NOT need GOG downloader program, it is completely voluntary.
If you read this:
http://www.gog.com/en/support/website_help/downloads_and_games
You would probably know it - "The GOG.com Downloader (download here) is totally optional and you don't need to use it, although we really recommend it if you're downloading games bigger than 1GB or if you're having any problems with your Internet connection."
Myself I never used it, I download all my games (over 50 of them!) via browser, they download to my designated folder (D:\Downloads), and from there I double click them, click on next, choose where to install (C:\Games\) click next and finish and thats it, I play.No problems whatsoever, just like it is supposed to be.
I've been so frustrated since yesterday with this thing that I missed that part about it being optional. I apologize. I am currently using Internet Explorer. I have two computers, the one I was DLing the games to is only used for games. So, I didn't install any other web browser other than the one that came with Vista. I don't generally surf the 'net while on this rig.
I've since uninstalled the GOG downloader and re-downloaded both games via the browser.
After having uninstalling the DLer the games went directly to my "Downloads" folder and I was able to install both of them to the drive of my choosing. Both games work.
As for the shortcut thing, its really not the point. Its the principle. Most DLers, installers ask if you want the shortcut. I will always say no. The GOG program doesn't ask nor give you the option to not have one. It just assumes and does. I know its trivial but its a peeve I have.
Well I am glad it is working for you.As for the GOG downloader - gog team is working on improving it, it probably is not ideal. But luckily it is not necesarry, I never used it so I never had any problem with it.
But what is so difficult about erasing a shortcut from a desktop anyway? : )
You must be in heaven that games themselves let you choose whether you want shortcut or not.

Theres nothing difficult about deleting a shortcut. I just like the option of not having to put one on my desktop...thats all.
I was in a really bad mood, so naturally, I was picking everything that was bothering me apart.
