Back when this game debuted, I was too busy playing shooters and N64. I don't necessarily regret this now, because at the time I was very young. There is a wit to this game that is not present in many games, even today. This game is about story. You may scoff at the graphics, but they do their job well. But those who skip this game for the "dated" graphics (it's like saying the Beatles have dated recording quality) will be missing out on great writing.
I never got to play this or the sequel. Thanks to GOG for bringing this and other classic games to those of us who still appreciate them.
