yes, this game is perfect! Absolutely. It has everything a good and old-fashioned game must have....intense atmosphere, suspense, a great storyline, detailed and proper graphics...etcetera
Furthermore....it's turn-based! That's hard to find in these days. In my opinion, a rpg has to be turn-based. Because of that, you can focus on the story, atmosphere and on the tactics...this way it really feels right...a rpg is no frantic action-game. If you want that...just look out for ego-shooters or "rpg's" like Oblivion, Gothic 2 or...ok...Fallout 3 from Bethesda.
I said, the game is perfect. Ok...let me adjust that statement....It's perfect for me. I'm 35 years old and i had a really great time in 1997 or 1998 with this game. Those were the days back then! So...i'm a person who prefers a good story over photo realistic graphics. I prefer an intelligent game-handling over a dull but action-packed game. Of course, there are exceptions (Fallout 3, Stalker)...but not many.
Bottom line:
you liked the "Mad Max"-Movies? You were born before the nineties? You know the good old "pen&paper"-rpg's and loved them...or still do? You are an admirer of scifi-stories? Maybe you even played games like "Pool of Radiance" or "Curse of the Azure Bonds"? And...uh...you like a bit blood & gore, dark humor and the frequent use of firepower? And you like free will, a non-linear gameplay and complex quests? OK....then what are you waiting for? Buy "Fallout 1+2" and have fun! :-))
Ah...and did i mention the great atmosphere in the game?

PS....the technical aspect of the game: without complaint! GOG did a great job. I play the game on a Vista-Laptop and it runs smooth and stable.
