The greatest sin Fallout Tactics commits is not being a real sequel to Fallout 2.
The Fallout games were some of the greatest role playing games of the nineties and tend to make Tactics pale.
In play however, Tactics is a very solid tactical game with role playing elements. There's several long, complex missions that offer interesting challenges and a good cast of NPCs (For a squad based tactics game). You take command of as many as half a dozen Brotherhood of Steel troopers, a paramilitary organization rebuilding, providing security for settlements in the post-apocalyptic wasteland in return for resources and new recruits. As you complete new missions you gain accesses to more powerful equipment and new recruits.. As well as more dangerous missions to use that gear on.
If you have played Fallout one and two, you might enjoy another trip into the same world. If you like Jagged Alliance 2, you should enjoy Tactics.
