It's not often that computer games come close to suspending disbelief, but Fallout did actually manage to provide a truly immersive experience, that was (still is really) nicely coupled with a brilliant interface, fantastic turn-based combat, good writing, 50s tunes, top production values and solid mechanics. What's more, Fallout was innovative in its choice of setting, back in an era when post-apocalyptic was far from banal, and -quite frankly- hasn't aged a day.
