when I click on the play button in gog my cursor flickers and nothing no window nothing I don't know what to try I've uninstalled reinstalled restarted my computer I'm not technical enough to do any thing else I may just mess up the files the update broke it

Same thing seems to happening to me now after an FO-Lon update.

I started playing the game and an update (I think V1.01 IV2.31.R3) tried to install. I quit the game, let the update install and now it wont restart.

I open Galaxy, try to play FO-Lon, the mouse cursor flickers for a while but nothing starts.

Sounds a similar problem to the above original post I think, after the update.

Any ideas?

It seems I can start a new game by running the 'f4se_loader' file in my FO-Lon folder, but I cant start the game from the Galaxy Launcher and I cant run an old save file from the f4se_loader file either?

Has anyone managed to run their old saves after installing the update?

blakjewellio, That fails for me but in another way.

If I run it from the GOTY FO4 launcher FO-Lon appears to start and run OK carrying on from where I was save file wise. But it fails in other ways, like when I try to trade with Nadia I get a white box pop up that says something like 'F4SE is not running' restart the game' (or similar).

So it seems I can also start the game via the FO4 launcher but it just fails for me elsewhere.

If I try to start if from the Galaxy launcher it still fails with a flashing cursor then nothing.

I got it running again by uninstalling the game and reinstalling it. Then turning off auto updates for both and finally right-click FO-LON and finding the section that offers the updates. I picked the older update (2.03 I think) not the newer update(1.01) and applied the older update. After that the game started again.

I'll see how it goes for a while before installing the newer update for a 2nd try.
