Svenos: Thank you gog!
It's kind of unbelievable in the 21th century, you receive a mail of apology for giving you a 10$ for free remastered version of a game you purchased many years ago !
We are pretty lucky for this generosity of yours, and despite it may be confusing you should not really apologize :)
I was also a bit surprised to see this order, and at the same time I was like... come one who else than me would order this game on this website on my gog account?
Thanks for the upgraded edition!
To be fair, the apology isn't for giving the free game, thats always appreciated, but when you suddenly get an email stating you bought something and a price for it, people will of course react and think their account is compromised or similar, causing unwarranted fear and confusion, and having to check bank accounts and change passwords when there was no direct need to, that's what the apology is for.
In the 21st century, security, especially online, is just needed more and more, so to experience a legitimate "thanks for your $xx.xx purchase" email for something you have not bought is probably one of the biggest indicators that something might be going on with your accounts.
But all in all, no real damage done, and it might even have been a wakeup call for people to change passwords and check 2fa etc. And i suspect gog will make sure it won't happen again next time they give a free upgrade
