Hello,

first, thanks for the good / uncut version @ GOG.

Now, what i'm wondering for every game, which language / voice over are the best in your opinion?
(is some language intended / more "high-profile" production than the other?

I'm german and the german translation in many games is awful (when the game is originally made in english) and yeah i know, some other countries have more problems (no translation at all and more flaws if there is one).

Can somebody recommend me a language?

I can understand german and english good enough, the other options would be french audio (the developer are french, right?) + english or german subs.

Maybe, it's just a matter of preference. I think, will compare the different voice overs in the beginning / intro. (Nothing sucks more, when the voice of a main protagonist is feeling annoying.)

Thanks in advance, sorry for my bad english.

Regards,

Tim

I have played in French. I don't recall anything stellar. It's not worth it for you in my opinion. The game is set in America so playing in English could have the benefit of authenticity if the German version is bad.
Italian was fine to me, but I guess it's not an option for you. I also played in English once, fine but nothing special, so check German and if it sounds fine for you stick with that: there will be more than one main charater to play so you'll not get bored with his voice anyway, and since it's a cinematic experience you want to ignore subtitles as much as you can, or at least this is my opinion.

Xeely: and since it's a cinematic experience you want to ignore subtitles as much as you can, or at least this is my opinion.
I believe this is because almost everything is dubbed where you live. In Finland, pretty much everything is subtitled, which I find it a more agreeable solution since I've had all my life to get used to it.
I think the original French audio is the best. Anything to get rid of Tyler's English voice.

So ... the *original * audio of this game is French?.. It was written by David Cage in that language? It was merely translated into English?

Yes, this game is very French!

Why, thank you. I'll have to play in that language then.

All dubbing is shit. Do the English voices (since the game is suppose to be in New York) and subtitle it (if it exist) or you just play/watch it without it, as long you somewhat understand what they are saying. And if you can read this then English shouldn't be a problem. If the game is, let's say, korean and their is no translation and you don't understand that langues well then you better hope for a fan-made translation. And if that doesn't exist. Well either your fucked or you continue just guessing what's happening :)

Although I don't understand Russian I play the Metro games with Russian voices and English subs. Because that's just how it is.

As and European myself I never understod you central Europeans.. you guys should really stop dubbing you stuff. You askew the intended art. Plus you learn better English that way.
