I wasn't aware factorio was multiplayer at all - does it have a LAN option?

I just got it, so I haven't yet tried multiplayer. As of version 0.12.35, there is no "lobby" for LAN, but there is a direct connect by IP which should work over the internet or LAN. That's the only way to connect to other servers atm.

I read somewhere that there will be a server browser in v0.13.x, which should be out within a week. Unsure if that will also dynamically show LAN games or not, we'll soon see, but it's no big deal since direct IP should work.

Connect to it is fine by me and leaves complete freedom. Thanks!

Heads up: Factorio 0.13 was released yesterday (huge update), and in the changelog, it states:

| Removed multiplayer peer-to-peer mode.

I haven't tried the new version yet, and won't have time for a couple of weeks. Thought I'd update this thread FYI though. I don't yet know if LAN play is entirely removed in favor of the new lobby system or if it has somehow been integrated.
