Factorio now has cloud saves ' YAY!'
Factorio now tells you, you only have 200mb of cloud save space. (I only had 1520mb of saves)

So after some save file (re)moving, my save folder is 99.7mb (inc autosaves 127mb)
Yet it still CAN'T Sync. As it tells me that i still try to save 248mb.
Plus i have checked and the Mods folder is 286mb. So that can't be anywhere related to it.

Where and what is synced to the cloud, what and how much do i need to remove, to get under 200mb.
Will there be a way to Select What savegames to cloudsave. As it now looks like you can only have about 6 saves (plus autosaves) on 200mb.

But i still can't sync even with only a 55mb save folder. keeps bugging about 248mb. what gives?

As you can see It's obvious the cloud will save the whole game folder, not just save folder - nothing seems wrong, that's normal.
Not GOG Galaxy cloud system fault, It's your fault, miss looking!
I filled up the 200MB pretty quickly, I think GOG should consider raising the allocation for Factorio as the save files tend to be quite big and they get bigger the further you travel (the more chunks you generate). A bit like Minecraft in that sense.
Yeah, I'm getting the same problem. It's consistently telling me my saves are 215MB when it was more like 194MB. I deleted a few and tried again and it's still saying I have 215MB. Something isn't working right.

What the bloody hell are you on about?

The saves aren't even in the game folder, they're in User\Appdata\Roaming\Factorio\Save. Even that entire Factorio folder is well below 200MB let alone what it's claiming I have.

Look at the god damn save files and game, as I know, they save all from your game, files and save files, make your calculation in MB size (I mean Eledore).

Eledore show only save, what about the size of installed game.

And as I can see SirPrimalform, you didn't know you can change the save files location inside the installation folder (config-path.cfg) I always change the directory to a partition with bigger space all the time, even so, I never used cloud, because it's too low for our needs for some kind of games, even to other platforms, like Origin and any other that has this kind of cloud.

In terms of cloud, they need to save just the save files, not the whole game and save files (GOG Galaxy), maybe there Is a probleme In client! 248 MB vs 200 MB as you can see, they calculation Is with the game and save files as I told on top.

Verry bad at math m8!

You're barely making sense. And no, I've already checked this with support - Galaxy isn't uploading the game files to the cloud, the only thing it uploads is the save folder. There seems to be a bug where it miscalculates the size, that's all.
I'd like to bump this since it has not gotten an official answer and the issue persists.
My saves directory has 279 MiB while Galaxy keeps telling me that 50x MB are too much and i should delete saves to sync.
Most of the space goes to the current game that has about 58 MiB plus the three autosaves. I've seen no option to set the number of autosaves ingame, so in a while - when the game grows a bit further - my only option seems to be to manually delete my autosaves before sync to upload just the manual save plus that ghost data. That's clearly the point where carrying the data via USB stick gets easier.

A Cloud data management access would be a solution. Even better would it be to get the option to restrict sync to certain files since all i need usually and willingly is the most current save.
I totally understand that GOG can't just provide endless cloud space.
I would probably even use a managmenent option to clean old stuff that i no longer need.

For now it would be nice to get to know what galaxy is talking about when it tells us about a much larger dataset to sync than there is in the saves directory.
Mods are out, the are a bit over 1 GiB for me. Blueprints, achievements etc in the ...AppData\Roaming\Factorio directory are just additional 5 MiB.
Next possibility would be all old saves plus the current file to compare but that still would be smaller than the announced size.
I suspect we get the raw space shown with cloud internal backups included.

---
well except galaxy would just check which files are newer than in the cloud, trying to upload them all at once and the size limit being applied to all the old saves plus their replacement. The numbers would add up really well. But they wouldn't to that wouldn't they? Because that would be pretty stupid and confusing every user that is not a computer nerd with WTFs about that.
At least with factorio - and everything else with few possibly larger files that may change - this is a really bad way to handle that.
Even if the upload includes everything at once the temporary space requirement shouldn't be accounted or shown to the user because thats just internal stuff we shouldn't deal with.

Sorry if this got lengthy but the possible and stupid explanation struck me right while i wrote this.
P.S.: this would also mean that if we topped up the cloud space even deleting everything wouldn't make it work again. I really don't want to test this.

Can I bump this again? It's still not syncing for me.
