I get commercial at the beginning, then music and black screen.

Error log prints a lot, but one thing in particular: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file "C:\Users\MyUserName\Documents\My Games\Expeditions Conquistador\config.ini".

I've searched the internet for a solution, found someone who changed config.ini (which didn't exist in my case). When I added resolutions to config.ini (C:\Users\MyUserName\Documents\My Games\Expeditions Conquistador):

The game actually started, but no sound except in the videos. When I used the Options menu, the game crashed. Then I looked in Config.ini again and found some things added, changed sound, and got it working that way since the options menu is buggy. Game ran, but when I got to tactical combat, there was a constant loading screen. When I press 'space' there is fighting going on that I don't see.

Can someone maybe show their config.ini file? Maybe I can get the game working that way. This is frustrating.

try deleting your Expeditions Conquistador folder (Remember to back up any saves you want to keep). The game should generate a new config.ini file (And folder) if the folder doesn't exist.

I did, but it didn't work. No Config.ini was created.

The tactical screen is working now though with my custom Config.ini that I created myself, and I can play the game, even though it is still buggy, and you can't use the Options->Gameplay menu or the game will crash..

Problem is, game is still very buggy. Whenever I load a game, the game with fail 100% of the time outside of a town, but when I reload again, I can play but be careful not to click on that Ration tab because then the game crashes. The game often crashes when I'm in combat as well.

Could it be the graphics card? I have a Radeon 5750HD , and I've seen others who have this black screen having an ATI Radeon card. The game doesn't recognize something and doesn't create config settings or the file itself.

What version number is displayed in the lower right corner of the main menu? What are your full specs? I have that same graphics card, but have none of these issues.

Also, if you could upload the following file from inside your game's installation folder (Expeditions Conquistador_Data/output_log.txt) to pastepin once you've caused a crash, that would help diagnose the problem.

It kinda sounds like you have a corrupted or incomplete download. I've never heard of the rations tab crashing the game before, so it could be worth trying re-downloading and re-installing the game.

The rations tab works sometimes. It's just when I load a savegame that the game complains a lot. Usually I don't dare go into the rations tab when I camp for that reason. No double ration or meat for anyone, but that works too.

Could you post your other specs (CPU, RAM, OS, etc)? Also, are you running any modded XML files/language mods?

Before you play, probably go lower the texture and terrain quality settings.

Does your windows user have admin rights? If not, try that. The crash seems to be happening right around when it's saving (Or trying to) the config file.

When I run the .exe file with administrator rights, I still crash when I use Options->Gameplay.
