I've recently finished Expedition: Conquistadors (had a lot of fun with this game!) and now I'm wondering slowly about getting Vikings as well.

However, I'm curious about some things. In Conquistadors there were such things like "clash" of Christianity with pagan beliefs and rituals (especially human sacrifice). How does it look like in case of Vikings? Is it relevant for plot and/or for gameplay? Is it mostly about clash of "various flavour" paganism, or also between Christianity and paganism?

I admit that this "aspect" of Conquistadors was for me one of the most interesting features, so I'm curious how they've dealt with it in Vikings.

Many thanks in advance for answer!

The clash between the religions is basically Norse paganism versus Christianity, since you're effectively conducting the Viking invasion of England.

The difference is instead of Christians on your team, you have pagans on your team, so you have "superstitious" versus "skeptical" character traits. You can potentially recruit a Christian from the locals as well given the right circumstances.

There are also a few quests where religion plays a central theme - Christiantiy, paganism (Norse and other) as well as a cult of sorts all crop up.

The "mystical" stuff is handled in a similar way to Conquistadors actually, with the exception being the lack of mushrooms this time around. ;)
Thanks for detailed answer! I'm glad that this aspect is still important part of the game.
