Saw Steam got some updates since the GOG launch... GOG got nothing... Be great if Zachtronics would get on the GOG DevPortal so he can push udpates fast and direct to Galaxy users

Ping them on Twitter @zachtronics and ask them to do us a solid and get on https://devportal.gog.com/welcome

Are any updates missing? What is the GOG version missing compared to Steam?

Dunno, mine is freezing from time to time. There hasn't been an update since release.
I did email Zach and he replied there may be something odd with the GOG version that it does not actual upload the error reports, but keeps them stored locally.

I am pretty sure there will be an update eventually, I wait until then before starting to play again. Not sure if Steam got any.

Maybe like this:

UPDATE: Fixing an obscure histogram bug
16 DECEMBER - KRISPYKREM
This update fixes an obscure bug where bad histogram data could cause the game to crash.

I requested a refund now, since there is no attempt to fix the game.
It's sad it ends like this. No answer or action from Zach himself?

Yes, he did reply and said it is strange I keep the logfiles, which should be automatically sent to their servers.

But even so, if it is an 'overload' of logs that makes it hang, it should be fixable with a patch?

I contacted GOG and asked, but only got the request for DXDiag.txt so far.
Keep us informed, please!
Two months on and still no updates. This is extremely disappointing.

GoG's great for retro stuff, but this makes me very reluctant to use them again for new releases :-(
I will always buy games on GOG over any other distributor, especially Steam. We explicitly own the games on GOG. Steam states clearly that you aren't even buying the game, you're merely buying a license to play it through them.

Apart from that I see the support for the games via updates on GOG are second rate. It's bad and this is not the only game to have the problem.

I assume this has less to do with GOG and a lot of responsibility falls on the developers.
Was it fixed? Last update on GOG was in December 2019, "This update fixes an obscure bug where bad histogram data could cause the game to crash.". Steam update was in November 2020, "UPDATE: Fixing the crash handler and histograms".

So it looks like the GOG version was updated much earlier than of steam?
I think so. This is the version I have:
