I am not getting any of the optional objectives to come up in game. I have tried searching and searching for the totem pole but to no avail. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

How many bonus objectives you find depend on your level of notoriety.

Do some more bad things and search again. I think you need notoriety 200 to access all objectives on Island one.

I found the problem. You have to have $350,000 saved in the Strong Room before the objective becomes available.
