My base's defences got beaten down to the point that enemy agents got in and knocked my population of ~80 minions down to under half of that. I still have military minions through to marksmen and science minions through to quantum scientists so that's no problem, but my entire social line got wiped. I've tried to get new valets, but it seems that every time a new one is almost trained, some agent sets something on fire, and off runs the valiant valet to put it out. And then he gets killed. So, the question: is there any way to tell units, either as a group or as individual units, to ignore fighting or to stay in a particular area of the base? This is getting really frustrating - I've captured and interrogated a maid about three times now, only to have the resulting valet get mowed down by enemy fire each time.
Thanks guys.

The best thing you can do is to get your heat down.
So no people on the worldmap.
and trying to leave agents that visit alone so they go home with a report that everything is alright.
You can keep people out of pieces of your base by setting the door security to 3 or higher
Thanks; that's what I ended up doing. Other problems now (mostly super agents), but that's a whole other kettle of fish...
