Hello,
i wanna use mouse and keyboard. I set mouse axis for pitch and yaw.
When is steer left/right it seems ok, but when i steer up/down the ship goes in the opposite direction for 1-2 sec and then in the direction i wanted. It´s nearly impossible to aim at something.

I changed sensitivity and dead zone up and down at "Customize Controls" directly beneath pitch/yaw axis and also at "Mouse and Keyboard - Mouse Movement".
Nothing works, i noticed a difference with the senitivity setting but still pitch has this odd behavior and yaw has it not.
I don´t really know what dead zone does or should do.

If this is intended behavior, can i somehow disable or at least reduce it?

I have Win7 (started the game with "-dx11") and a Madcatz M.M.O TE mouse. The mouse itself runs with 8200 dpi.

with kind regards

Hi zottelkrischan,

First question: was the behaviour you were getting ("[..] steer up/down the ship goes in the opposite direction for 1-2 sec and then in the direction i wanted[..]) before or after you've changed the config?

If you observed this out of the box it's probably a very specific problem with your setup and somewhat hard to diagnose.

If it's the later case (got this behaviour after chaning configs), could you please send me your input.ini located at
C:\Users\ingmar\AppData\Local\ES2\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor to ingmar@rockfishgames.com.
I'd like to check if I can reproduce your problem.

Thanks and best regards,
Ingmar
Hello,
thanks for the fast response.
I changed the config first, before the first game.

As changing ingame settings doesn´t helped i tried a different (very simple) mouse, i changed mousesettings in windows - nothing.

Then i set controls back to default. With the cursor keys for pitch/yaw now it worked fine on both axis.
Then i realized that the mouse axis for pitch/yaw was still active, even when the cursor keys were assigned and axis were empty.
So when i manually assigned mouse axis to pitch/yaw axis in the first place it was some sort of double assign?!

Now it works! :-)

But with nothing assigned to pitch/yaw axis the deadzone/sensitivity settings are not saved. I can only use the settings at Mouse & Keyboard/ Mouse Movement. But at least i can tryout the game now!!!

With kind regards and stay healthy!

I am glad, as it seems that you've figured out a solution that is working for you!
Just want to point out that you can go Settings > Input > Mouse & Keyboard and toggle if you want use the direct mouse input from the OS or Unreal Engines input. (But you probably already knew this).
Also having mappings in the keyboard collumn and in the mouse collumn for the same action at the same time shouldn't be a problem. If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Best regards,
