Hello Devs. I found another strange thing:
The Flak Gun works fine against drones, but against enemy ships (Any type) when those ships have no shields or armor, the damage seems too little. My flak does 42 kinetic damage, the same as my beam laser, but the damage effect between 1 second of beam and 1 shot of flak against hull is pretty visible.
Another thing I noted is, when mining, a flak shot only removes 1 mineral per shot, while the beam quickly mines all minerals.
In Everspace 1, 1 flak shot was enough to deplete the mining spot and remove all minerals.
Is it something about the damage area?

Cheers.
I think the first point is working is as intended, since kinetic AND energy damage both apply to ship structure.
But engery and kintect damage are deminished by shields and armor respectively.

for example:
lvl1 Beam Laser: 30 kinetic + 30 energy = 60 damage total
lvl 1 Flak: 28 kinetic + 13 energy = 41 damage total

Regarding the dropped amount of resources with a single scatter gun shot: We will look into this and eventually make it as it was in ES1.

Thanks for replying Ingmar.
It seems like you are right. I was considering energy damage as a "shields only" aspect. Forgot that it adds over kinetic on the Hull. And so, beams are a really brutal weapon.
I noticed that the speed of mining with beams is higher than in Everspace 1. I can deplete a mineral reserve in 1 second. In Everspace 1, I got 1 mineral for each 1 second of active beam.
Is it possible that beams are applying damage at a higher rate than 1 second? Maybe that also affects combat damage?

While at it, one tiny probably-not-intended flak feature: it allows to mine through thick rock walls with no openings, whenever the node is up to 40+ meters away from the closest to it point of the wall; but it allows it in a weird way: only shots done nearly same instant that ore node's icon appears on HUD - will result in mining a bit of mineral.
