i use a spacemouse which is a puck that allows analog control of 6 axis.

This thing is mostly used for cad but as it has a 6 axis analoge controller and xinput support i also try to integrate it
into space flight sims like elite, star citizen and so on.

So in everspace if you use mouse, instead of using WASDQE i would like to use the axis of the space mouse,
which works fantastically.
You should try it :)

BUT there is a BIG annoyance/problem.
Typically the game seems to support ONLY mousekeyboard OR joystick OR other.
While that makes sense in general ... in that case it means i can EITHER use the mouse for rotating
OR use the SPACEMOUSE for thruster.
There is a "workaround". If i start moving the spacemouse WHILE i am moving already the mouse,
both control schemes are active at once (till you release the mouse or spacemouse).

So to be clear using the spacemouse and mouse combo works fantastic IF it works ...
and i would really really really like to have a feature where it says "allow multiple control schemes at once".
So i can combine spacemouse with joystick or mouse or mouse with joystick and so on.

The wish to use mouse+joystick has been pointed out quite often. Inf fact we had it on our agenda for EA, but this feature just didn't make it in because of some more pressing issues. But at some point we will most likely support this feauture.
