Hi everybody,

I'm experiencing a freezing of the game about 30 seconds after starting it.
Irrelevant of the point where I am, hangar, space, or even the menu, nothing reacts to any input.
With no sounds and no movement force quitting the game is the only option to end it.

Does anybody have the same problem?

I'm playing on ultra setting in 2560x1080 on my i7 desktop pc, 2 gtx 970 in SLI with 24 GB of RAM, game runs super smooth up to sudden freeze, so I don't think that my hardware is overwhelmed.

It's very similar to my issue with freezes, except for necessity to quit. It mostly happens during fights, the screen freezes for 5-7 seconds and the last sounds keep repeating until the game resumes. But it can happen (and usually does) several times in a row during a fight with 3-5-7 enemies which is very annoying. Sometimes it freezes for 5 seconds, unfreezes for 2 and then freezes again making the whole thing unplayable.

The rig: i5-2500K @ 3.30 GHz, gtx770, 16 GB RAM.
I have tried to change the following in different combinations to no avail:
- graphic settings: epic/high
- vsync: on/off
- resolution: 2560x1440 / 1920x1080
- camera shake: on/off
- window mode: fullscreen / window fullscreen / window.

Would be nice to know (especially from the devs) if there is a magic option in the current version or we need to wait for a patch or maybe the game in its current in-dev state is ok (miracles happen) and it's a problem on our side.

I've found this thread on Steam forums: Game freezes randomly. Maybe it can help you. It worked for me... sort of. I had just one freeze in 20 minutes, which is good.

On Windows what you have to do is to set affinity for the game process in Windows Task Manager. Uncheck the last processor in the list, for me it was CPU 3. Not sure what one should do in case of Hyper Threading. If you have more than 4 processors try to experiment unchecking different CPUs by one or two and see what you've got.

Just make sure you set affinity for the right process. At first I chose "Everspace.exe" which is the wrong one. It starts one of the following processes depending on your platform:
- RSG-Win32-Shipping.exe (x86)
- RSG-Win64-Shipping.exe (x64).

Hope this helps.

This is confirmed as working. Been using it for a couple of days now. No freezes anymore.

How to fix: Start Everspace - Press ALT+CTRL+DELETE and Start Task Manager - In Applications right click on the Everspace program and select "Go To Process" - Right click that process and select "Set Affinity" - Uncheck CPU 3
All Done!
Happy gaming and watch out for interceptors! :)
Thanks, it does work, has to repeatedly be done though.

Well, not necessarily. You can create a shortcut which will launch the game with the affinity you need. Here is an article and a video on how to do it. The downside is that GOG Galaxy will not be able to track your play time until we've had Set Launch Options wish fulfilled. If it doesn't bother you, just create a shortcut.
Cannot confirm this. I'm having the same problems. I've tried setting affinity mask for the RSG process, still the game freezes within 10-15 seconds after launch.
