Purchased multiple titles from GOG before and had the .pkg files install perfectly fine. An application appeared after the install completed.

With EVERSPACE, the .pkg file downloaded and installed (according to system information) but did not appear to be an 'application' to start or play the game.

I tried the xar/tar method but got nowhere with that. Just ended up with another .pkg file that could not be extracted further and kept doubling in size every time I used the 'tar' command on it in terminal.

Searched for the .app in the search bar of the finder and could not find anything on EVERSPACE, other games appear normally.

Pacifist did not help either. What am I doing wrong here?

Solved my own problem:

I was able to make it work by using the Pacifist method of extracting the internal .pkg file (just labeled package.pkg) and looked into that pkg. Inside was a "Contents" folder (found inside a folder labeled "payload").

I made a folder in /Applications named "EVERSPACE" then copied the "Contents" folder to that folder. I then renamed the folder to "EVERSPACE.app" and opened it. Game runs fine now.
