Hi!

I bought Everspace yesterday, and since then spent my time trying to make it work...
The installation goes usually well (but not with Lutris, which is the game manager that i use; it ends up stopping the download of the installation files in the middle of it...), but when i try to launch the game, i have the splash screen appearing, the game trying to load (no sound, if it matters), and that's it.

I let it run for almost an hour, to see if works, but no luck. During this time, the hard drive works like crazy, and if i wait too long the computer almost freeze. I guess it's some memory trouble, although i have the minimum required (see the specs below).

I tried launching the game through Shipped_Libraries, System_Libraries, with the RGS file (sorry if it's the wrong name, i deleted the remaining files), with or without the VLC line commented out in both files.

I reinstalled it too many times - considering the download time of the installer - and reboot my computer several times (sometimes i had to since it was freezing).

All dependencies seems ok, i didn't notice something strange with the ldd command, and Mesa and llvm are at superior version than required.

I'm running out of ideas now, and couldn't find anything more on the different forums, so i post here in case someone can help. Thanks for reading this (sorry for my english) and for helping if you can!

Did you try installing it in the terminal to get some error messages? I suspect that since you only have integrated graphics that share the RAM with the rest of the computer, you are too low on VRAM. If you allocate 1GB to graphics you only have 3GB left.

Thanks for your answer!

I didn't try the installation on a terminal, but i probably will if i find several hours to test it multiple times... ;)
But i think you have the point with the VRAM thing. The game can install itself sometimes, but it takes forever - and fail - to launch. From the error messages i could see i suspected a memory problem, but i didn't think of hte integrated graphics problem; thanks a lot for clarifying it!

I guess i'll have to wait to have more RAM to enjoy this game on this laptop. :(
Again, thanks for the help, i won't pull my hair anymore to try to launch it for now!
