I've played the X-Wing / TIE Fighter, Wing Commander, and FreeSpace series of space sim games.

I prefer the first-person "cockpit" viewpoint, much more than the third-person "behind" viewpoint.

I prefer using a joystick controller, much more than using a mouse for space sims.

How does Everspace compare to the aforementioned series of space sim games?

Hi there,
Everspace has more an arcade shooter kind of gameplay, which we believe plays best with mouse and keyboard. Concerning joysticks, a lot of players seem to be quite happy with the controls, whereas others are not - I think it boils down to individual taste.

A little late from me, but thanks for the reply, and honest answer. Take care!

It controls like Descent but in open space instead of caverns (though there are the occasional hollow asteroids and wrecks).
