EAW has been extensively modified over the decades in generally successful attempts to get it working with modern machines. (re: https://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/forums/85/1/european-air-war)

Have any of these been included, or is this just a straight CD rip?

Accordingly with one of the readmes supplied it is the 1.28 version which let play the game in 1024x768. It is bundled with two wrappers one for the glide mode other for the direct 3d Mode. All is working fine, even the documentary historical movies, plane info movies and the intro.

Yeah, just checked it out myself. V1.28 is a good place to be (none of the "let's turn EAW into IL-2 1946" nonsense that seems to be the modders' focus these days) and the inclusion of the wrappers is a nice touch.

Definitely a quality release showing the proper respect to this old but great sim!

Indeed, It is a tweaked near official patch version more focused in fidelity and stablity than in later "overworked" or "overmodded" patches. It is focused in offer the whole experience even the movies. All is polshed for new computers. I think this is the way when rereleasing oldies like this.
Wow! Thanks Gog.

The version of 1.28 that you get has one theatre and one planeset. It contains work done by me and members of the "code-group".
What the code-group have done since 1.28 is to realease packages that come with several plane-sets and theatres such as Desert Air War, Spanish Air War, Finnish Air War, South Pacific Air War, Carrier Air War, Iraq and Dunkirk. The latest versions have plane-sets separate from theatres, so if you want to just for sheer fun you could fly in a desert theatre with Pacific planes. Alternatively you can still play with the default plane-set and the default theatre, and it would be the equivalent of flying the GoG version.

Thanks for the patches...I'm currently playing 1.28e which fixes the joystick and throttle issues for me. btw, where can i find the installer for South Pacific Air War? the link I found seems to be dead.
