Hey y'all, I'm wondering if anyone else is having a joystick issue. I have an older stick, the amazing Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2, and it works with pretty much everything except this. I set the settings to use joystick, throttle and rudder, as the stick has all of these axes, but in the air, I just spin and spin and spin and the game doesn't seem to recognize my stick at all.

I'm on Win10 Home, and Windows sees the stick just fine. I just used it earlier today with Take on Helicopters, so I know it's working properly.

Please help. Thank you.

This may help: https://eaw.neocities.org/joystick-controls.html The bottom of the page seems to list configurations for the various sticks available. Unfortunately, I'm having a similar issue where EAW recognizes everything on the T Flight Hotas X EXCEPT the twist rudder.
Unfortunately I'm having the exact same issue as OP on my basic Thrustmaster joystick. Tried some of the tips on link provided by previous poster, but to no avail.

I love how that page says:

"Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 (tested on Win7/Win10 with built-in generic drivers)"

NUH UH. ;)
As I expected (I remember it in the near past) the bundled minithrotle and rudded in my Wingman Extreme do not work as intended.
What I have noticed is that into the game folder there is a file called dixi.ini containing instructions to even modern pads like the steam controller. But I am unable to have all my old Wingman Extreme axes working fine.
It is a shame because the keyboard for throttle and rudder is functional but this game, like any WWII and WWI sim, shines managing the throttle and rudded.

My Joy does not have any driver, it just is a USB connection plug and play.

I'm thinking about using the hat control as the rudder, may not be AS awkward as using keyboard?

I have to admit I didn't read it that carefully- I was hoping it would help SOMEBODY out. The config they list for the T Flight is also for the stick only, not the HOTAS, so didn't help me much either... :(

I tried it and it works but it as not very confortable for me but I guess it will depend of the joyhat itself. It could be a good option for others.

Same here. Thrustmaster, no rudder, no throttle

With my Saitek X52 I can get everything to work, rudder and throttle, but no stick control. Any idea?
same here. Thrustmaster 1600, only the buttons work.

No stick, throttle, or rudder input recognized

So I looked in the dixi.ini file and it's hilarious, as the Switch Pro controller is in there, for example. I have an Xbox One pad, so I tried that, and it worked fine, but my Microsoft stick? Still spin spin spin. What I might need to figure out is how to get the GUID of my stick and enter the stuff in that ini file manually.

Well, the X and Y axes and the hat works fine and responsive for me. It is the bundled minithrottle and the Z rudder axis what do not want to work.

For me it does not work but into the eaw.ini file there is a line similar to "windowsjoystick" 1 or 0. I can be useful for others. I guess that windowsjoystick=1 uses the windows call to it and could solve problems in different joys others than mine. It is worth the try.

greetings
Same issue as OP here. T.Flight Hotas 4 in Windows 10. Works fine in other games. Can assign joystick buttons in game settings, but no axis appear to work in game - just spin and spin.
I got my joystick working using the UAW 1.6 mod.

not sure how. when I first installed it I had issues, like the display not working correctly...some how it is working now.

Could you link that mod please and thank you? A google search gives me United Auto Workers. ;)
