Got my mind pretty much made up on getting Crusader Kings and Sengoku, but which of the Europa Universalis games would be recommended and would be considered the best? Kind of wanting to get one or so of each of the Paradox strategy series, but i've never played any of these before. Tempted to get either Europa Universalis II or just get all of Europa Universalis III as it seems like you have a ton of scenarios and settings if you get all the DLC with that one. Uncertain about For the Glory, EU Rome and others. Much thanks for any suggestions.
Hi,
my brother is kinda die-hard fan of EU III, so from me that would be an obvious recommendation. I myself started from CK, and anfter that couldn't find myself in EU.
I would say EU III (you should get the upgrade here too) and For The Glory.

If you consider EU II then take For the Glory instead - it is like an updated and polished version of EU 2 with additional modding options. And you get a forum badge on the Paradox forum for FtG but there is none for the older EU2...

EU 3 is a very different game than the earlier EU´s.
FtG, especially with the AGCEEP mod, concentrates on real history and real monarchs with personal unions between nations only happening where they historically did while the later EU´s from EU III on have a more sandbox like gaming where you could by random chance get a personal union on another country.

And from EU III onward the game uses a different game engine that is far more demanding. If you consider to play on an old PC or on a laptop then FtG runs more fluent.
