I am playing England (1492 start) and have Cabot, the explorer. I have sailed to Bermuda and around and around the adjacent sea territories, repeatedly trying to discover Bermuda. I repeatedly get the ti message and the red X. This is getting frustrating!

In prior starts, I have succeeded in colonizing territories in Canada, but this is too slow and too far from the prime territories for colonies.

1 its a land province so you have to send your conquistador... actually land an army
2 it can sometimes already have an army which then blocks your conquistador

If it were already colonized or had another country's trading post, I should see that indicated on the map, as I do for other territories. There is no such indication, and I conclude it is not yet occupied. I should be able to discover it w/ my explorer, right?

I know that it might take multiple tires (in and out of the adjacent sea territory. I have made MANY tries, without success. I'd appreciate any further input.
