I have EU2 and the game comes up with cannot load event error when I try to start a scenario. Then it crashes to desktop. The tutorials work fine though. What could be causing this? I have Windows 7

I also have this problem
Anyone know how to solve it?
Thanks
I had a similar problem on my Win 10. I could play tutorials, but when i click on a scenario game crashed.

I´ve managed to solve the problem by editing win 10 registry.

Run "regedit", keep searching for a key "D:\Games\For the Glory\FTG.exe" or whatever your path is.

I´ve found this "folder" "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatVersion\Layers" with my key (see above).

Change value field to ''$ DWM8And16BitMitigation WINXPSP3 Layer_ForceDirectDrawEmulation'', no quotes.
Windows 7 professional service pack 1 here. I have yet to buy a Windows compatible game on GOG that has actually functioned. Here's what I've tried:
1) changing to compatibilty mode for Windows 7
2) Running as administrator

Anyone have any ideas what else I might do?

This game crashes on launch every time.

EU2 is older than Windows 7. Use the compatibility mode for Windows XP and make sure to not install the game in C:\Programs\...

Correcting the RegistryKey to "DWM8And16BitMitigation WINXPSP3 Layer_ForceDirectDrawEmulation'' (whithout the quotes) solved my problem om WIN10 as well.
Thank you very much. :-)
