How randomized is this game? Does every play through feel the same ? Or are things randomly generated?
Anyone ? Thanks.

Kelefane: How randomized is this game? Does every play through feel the same ? Or are things randomly generated?
Hey, Kelefane! I know we had responded on the Steam forums, but I think if you had this question, I'm sure others have as well! Here is the response from the Steam forums:

"Hi there Venom! At this time, there are no Roguelike elements to Epic Tavern, in that there are no elements that persist from one playthrough to the next.

Quests and encounters also change based on which heroes are in your party. For instance, undead encounters play out differently if you have a necromancer with you. Cold encounters are altered by having a fire mage along, etc. The prologue, which takes place during a massive invasion 10 years prior to the tavern opening, contains several random encounters pulled from a pool that will determine which special characters you have available to you in that playthrough, as well as unlocking rare quests and items. During the prologue, you're essentially rolling up the world you'll be playing in. If you fail to save Merchant Row in the prologue, it's gone for you in that playthrough, as the area became a drug den after its destruction in the invasion.

Much of the game is determined by the way you select and curate your adventurers and quests. Many of the quests follow a moderately linear storyline, and the way you build your teams can determine higher or lower chances of success on those quests. From there, we have elements of RNG that affect the narrative engine regarding skill dice rolls (while on quests), chances of acquiring quest items, to attack or debuff status effects, as well as some other features.

Because of this, every playthrough of Epic Tavern feels different! Even if you curate the same adventurers, quest outcomes can vary, having anything from different consequences of patron/adventurer relationships to the overarching narrative of the world of Beor."
