Hi!

I finally decided to check out EECH, and so far it looks extremely promising. However, I have a problem with the all-mods package.. or not, I'm not sure ôO

Here's what's bothering me: I installed the game and the current 1.13 all-mods release. Everything seemed to have worked fine: I can fly the new Hind (which looks phenomenal!), I don't have the default HUD any more, and the shortcuts from the mod's readme are working fine.

However .. I never played the original un-modded version, but the game just seems incredibly bland to me, and nothing like shots from the modded version are promising. My pit looks like , my ground textures like [url=http://pcmedia.ign.com/media/reviews/image/eech18.jpg]this - while the mods promise environments like or [url=http://www.eechcentral.com/wiki/images/8/85/Aleut_Winter.jpg]that..

Do all the environments feature new textures, and I just missed them by accident..?
Did the modded Comanche cockpit maybe never get an overhaul..? (Or "only" sharper textures?)

Please don't get me wrong, I don't actually mind the older graphics. However, the modded pictures look really really good, and now that I've seen them, I would very much have them in my game, since they should be easily available..

Maybe I need to activate the texture packs manually? I checke the EECH.ini, but only found stuff to tweak the graphics, and no options for major changes like texture packs.

(*Small disclaimer: the shots above are no screenshots from my system, but from IGN. My game, however, doesn't look any different than that at all to me.)

Alright, I figured out what the problem was.

If anyone has the same problem: for some reason the installation went over perfectly well, but the texture parameters were not set by default (maybe this is supposed to be like that?). As a result, new features (like the playable Hind are available, while the textures remain in their blurred vanilla state.

To remedy the situation, check your EECH.ini file and change the following values from 0 to 1:

texture_colour=1
texture_filtering=1
mipmapping=1
dynamic_water=1

(They're directly beneath each other.)

*edit: I only posted twice, as I had hoped to set this question to "answered", but apparently it's not possible to answer one's own question..?

Well, if you wanted to add me as the answer, I'll just copy and paste what you said:
