How to change the username for the offline installer

All you need to do is go to %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Endless Space 2\Users.

Once there, open the Registry.xml in Notepad and search for CustomUsername or the Username. I would use control + H to find the username. This work for me.

I apologize for the typo in my title. GOG will not let me edit it

I already went through this file, but don't find anything related to a name, and neither with "CustomUsername" or "Username". Maybe the configurable line/variable appears only when you launched the game through galaxy ?
Could you send your xml file please ?

What happens when you add this line to the xml file?
</Slot0>
<CustomUsername>Yourusername</CustomUsername>
<Slot8>

I spoke with GOG about it. They said contact the developer like they have no control. Honestly this is lazy bull crap from GOG or Amplitude Studios. Not sure which one.

Edit: I said screw it and created a SEGA account to email the developers. Will update this thread when I hear back.

Simply change "Alcaray" to anything you want, and this thing will be your user name in game ! (if you don't use galaxy at least, if you use Galaxy I'm not sure it will work)

It's working !! (with some slight adjustments :))

Here is a "clean" step by step to help people who may have hard times know exactly what to do !

1) Go in the folder "%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Endless Space 2\Users"
2) Here you should have a subfolder "0", go inside (it's you user folder if I understood well)
3) Open "Registry.xml"
4) Search for the line "</Slot0>"
5) Just after it, add the line "<CustomUsername>YourUserName</CustomUsername>", choose what you want instead of "YourUserName" (for me it will be "Splatsch")
This part of the file looks like this for me now :
<Competitors>
<Slot0>
<Faction>FactionSophons</Faction>
<Color>0</Color>
</Slot0>
<CustomUsername>Splatsch</CustomUsername>
</Competitors>
6) Save the file
7) Launch the game ! Now the username you put in the registry.xml file should be here ! If you want to change it again, you'll have to change the chosen username in the registry.xml file.

I tried to launch a game and this works perfectly for me, even after restarting my computer. Thanks a lot to Syphon72 who found the solution !

Sadly, what I want is Alcaray. But in spite of the xml, it is not what the game displays.
