Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows how to increase the population limit for EE1 AoC?
This can also apply to EE 1 as well I suppose.

The one I used before with my retail copy of EE only works with the version prior to 2.0 where they changed the multiplayer lobby.

This increases the max pop cap to 13,200.


Anyways my question is, for the people who play with 3-5 people. Do you really get by just with 1,200 max pop cap? Or is there a way to increase the population cap in EE 1 and AoC?

Currently I've been playing 3 ppl vs 2-3 PCs on hard difficulty with the 1200 pop limit. Using the Colosseum makes this significantly less brutal but I still wish there were a way to increase it. Like you I used the original patch back in "the day" only to find that it no longer works. I'd also be interested in a solution as 1200 is tiny.

Playing against the PC on harder difficulty also isn't so bad as the PC doesn't need many Citizens to harvest its resources. The wonders of AI cheating.
