I was just wondering, since I don't seem te be able to find detailed up to date info anywhere (and some of the stuff which I found that could be was in Russian)

If you could post a link to someplace where there are some development logs(/a forum?), I would greatly appreciate it ;)

Hey. I'm worrying that they focused on the Russian language version, and there are no new versions of the mod in English.
Roman (the mod creator) is posting here: http://vk.com/empire_earth_4_mod (I use google translate to read news).
Hopefuly they'll include Unofficial Patch 1.5 for developers in the further versions of EE4 mod (so all screen resolutions will be supported).
Ah, thanks for responding MonaLisa!

I'm sure it'll be translated at some point, and it's good to hear the mod is still being worked on (and it's nice to see you arround these forums to, good to see some modding savy people still investing in empire earth!).

I downloaded the latest patch a while ago, and I really like what you guys are doing to the game! By now I'm a bit spoiled with all the destructive toys the realism mod and EE 4 give you, but the changes were just a point, so congrats!

I was wondering a while ago, if you made all the units, buildings, trees,... smaller, wouldn't that make the map seem larger?

I've been trying to create a custom game balance (just through the skirmish game menus), in which all units move slower significantly, and with higher health and lower damage.

The idea was that armies would take a while to get arround, making positioning garrisons arround your borders more important, as well as thoughtfull maneuvering and so that battles, once started, would take far longer to get finished. that also means, that because people die more slowly, you can get away with setting rally points near the battle, and building fresh troops while the battle lasts (although, it takes a while longer for reinforcements to reach the battle). It made war more about drawn out attrition battles and keeping your borders guarded. And the ai played along fairly well too. It made things more about breaking the deadly innevitable stalemate than quick flashy engagements.

It's perhaps not entirely up your alley, this kind of gameplay, but it was a refreshing change for the few games I played with it.

enough rambling though, I hope you have a great day, and pass my best wishes to the patch team! ;)

I'm not sure if it hasn't been done in the Realistic Mod ( http://ee.heavengames.com/downloads/showfile.php?fileid=2925 )

I personally can't make such changes in the "unofficial patch" for the following reasons:
- The patch shouldn't modify game too much,
- It would be harder to play with smaller buildings / units, and that would affect multiplayer gameplay :(

The "patch" should not modify game, but add features, fix bugs (especally on the newer operation systems), etc, that's why unfortunately I decided to stop with the modding part. I also know that some people didn't like gameplay changes in 1.5 (that's why I added an option to disable new buildings / units in game by the configuration utility http://i.imgur.com/UsG2S6F.png ). Since Unofficial patch has been downloaded over 17400 times, it's better to keep EE2 as it is orginally, and leave the other changes for mods like EE4, Realistic Mod, etc.
But I appreciate all the ideas, and I know that it would be good for the game. I just simply can't do it to not lose "happy users" :(
of course, that makes sense from most gamer's point of view :)

That's why it would also be very nice to have most big mods and the patch be compatible to each other, alhough I imagine people like RGV1 have their own different view on the game and what they want to do with it.

Keep at it, I guess...I only hope someone will someday manufacture a new EE game entirely, although you people are certainly keeping the old ones breathing (except, of course EE 3).

I should go now though, but as I said, have a lovely day!

I have created a compatible version of the patch for the "other EE2 mods". It can be downloaded here:
http://easywinclan.forummotion.com/t1731-development-diary-ee2-ee2x-unofficial-patch-1-5-a-version-of-up1-5-for-modders
So basically screen resolutions and some other features (like large address aware) will work with EE4 mod.

Have a nice day, too! :)
