I have an Acer Aspire 5610. For nearly the past year, it will randomly shut down entire computer system. When I try to reboot, it will start and then abruptly shut the system off, even when not running EE. I have to wait a minimum of 10 minutes and 30 minutes works better before I can restart and try to run EE. I've tried running 3 different anti virsus software scans, as well as malware and anti spyware to see if there something embedded shutting me down. To date, no luck. Does anyone have any ideas?
a few other details I forgot. I'm running Vista and EE II.

Sounds like a heat problem. It may be your video card, if EE is pushing that hard enough, but I might lean towards the CPU. Check to see if the fans are still spinning.
I thought it might be that too. I've been using a chill pad and have run Speed fan - appears to be running normally. In fact, all other programs will run for hours, even other games which are newer.
