So Ive tried running it without any compatibility mode at all and the mouse kept flashing while leaving a nice trail across the screen effecting anything it went by.

Then I tried 98 compatibility, same issue, but I went further and tried to play a game to see if it was a menu issue. The game crashed.

Then I tried XP compatibility and I had a bad refresh rate on the menu, mouse trailing, and when I tried to load a game up it worked to the point that pressing random buttons made sounds from the game but it would only display the loading screen.

Win 95 compatibility flat out crashed.

Are you using special mouse drivers for a non standard mouse? You could try disabling them if you are and just use the windows settings, just to see if that is the problem.

Plug and play logitech mouse, no drivers at all.

I have the same issue with mouse leaving a trail and being inconsistent in its movement to the point where it's almost impossible to hit the buttons in the menu. I use a Logitech G500 with the driver installed
BEST SOLUTION EVER!!

>> Play Empire Earth 1.
