Hi!
I have a problem - the game (unmodded) crashes whenever I try to Save (on clicking either "save" or "save as") as well as I when I'm trying to load. I first had crashes on "next turn" but that problem vanished when I turned off autosave, so I assume the problem is saves.
Could the reason be that my Username is not in english? But aren't the game supposed to save in drive:\GOG GAMES\Emperor of the Fading Suns Enhanced\SAV?
What do I do? How do I fix it?

Does the game not have permission to write to "drive:" whatever that is? What OS are you using?

1. I'm using windows 10.
2. I'm not sure if it does or does not have permission to write to the drive it's installed to - how do I check?
Thank you

Go to your 'protection history'. If there's a message about the efs exe there, then there will also be a chance to give it permission. Also you should switch efs to run in admin mode.

I get the feeling it won't help your problem. But it is worth a try.

If it fails and if someone smarter than me doesn't show up in this thread, you should go to the efs discord and get those geniuses to help you.

Unfortunately that didn't help (efs was not blocked, folder access permitted)
Come ask in the Discord. This is is the usual solution, as reported by another player:

Okay, I found the problem. My computer did not default to allowing folder access. Had to go into Windows Security and Protection History and "Allow". Didn't start by thinking this was the case because usually I get a windows security popup when it blocks access. An example is my Hearts of Iron 4 launcher seems to often have that issue when it tries to update it.

As I said, this was not the case. I don't have anything to allow, I have windows security turned off. However, for anyone having the same kind of problem, running EFS.exe through administrator mode seems to help
Thank you all
