I'm trying to figure out how damage works in regards to spells (Magical Fists, to be more accurate).

I have a Poison Axe III, with Melee Attack I and Attack Strength I. The weapon itself displays 82 Poison Damage + 10%, which should be at least 90.

I also have a Magical Fist of Poison, which has a spell called Poison Ball, and my Magic skill is at 5. The spell displays 40 Poison Damage + 50%, which should be 60.

Now my confusion kicks in when I found out, by coincidence, that my Poison Ball significantly out-damages my Poison Axe III.

There are a number of reasons why this could be, but the most likely one that stands out to me is that maybe a weapon that does a damage type doesn't do that type PURELY. (I'm at least confident that it is indeed a damage type and not just a status ailment, as some enemies take less damage from my Poison Axe III than other weaker weapons)

-EDIT: After a bit of further testing, my weapon's damage seems quite consistent with how much it claims to do (using Force Push & Power Wave as a rough basis to determine enemy HP), but my magic does way more damage than it shows it should do. With both my Magical Fist of Ice and my Magical Fist of Poison they do a LOT more damage than they show.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what's going on here, why my Poison Ball does more damage?

Not 100% sure, but enchated weapons usually deal normal damage + some magic damage, each being resisted separately. Most mobs have normal damage resistance, but little elemental/poison/etc. resistance, so a spell that deals pure damage is more effective.

I actually noticed a similar thrend with PSI damage. The basic spells do 40 damage, but they do far more HP damage than a damage 60 weapon+PSI

почему когда я запуская игру и не могу продолжить там где остановился предлогает только новую начать игру

Thanks for the reply.

I've found the physical damage to be very consistent in regards to how much HP I determine an enemy to have vs. how much a weapon says and then does relative to that HP amount.

So what I'm thinking is that the spells do a lot more damage (possibly the Magic/PSI skill does more than it lets on?).

ivan8989: "why when I starting the game and can not continue where I stopped offers only a new game to start"
A few things it could be:

1 - Autosave is off.
2 - Saves got deleted
3 - Game doesn't have administrator access, so it can't make files

I haven't experienced that problem myself, but make sure that you're running the game as an administrator, autosaves are turned on and that you attempt to make a manual save yourself. Good luck.

---

Eto mozhet byt' neskol'ko:

1 - Avtosokhraneniye vyklyucheno.
2 - Sokhraneno udaleno
3 - Igra ne imeyet dostupa administratora, poetomu ona ne mozhet sozdavat' fayly

YA sam ne ispytal etu problemu, no ubedites', chto vy zapuskayete igru v kachestve administratora, avtozapuska vklyucheny i chto vy pytayetes' sdelat' ruchnuyu, chtoby sokhranit' sebya. Udachi.

Okay, after a little testing I'm beginning to think it's because of the Magic skill.

The durations shown by the Magic skill modifier are not correct- I timed it and instead of a 50% duration bonus at 5 Magic, it seems to DOUBLE the base duration.

From my tests on determining enemy HP, my spells reliably do around 140 damage (if the enemy isn't resistant). I think each level of Magic may add 20 damage to my spell damage.
всем спасибо за совет
