Hi,

just tried the DX12 version and I'm experiencing a huge performance boost. I've just arrived at the castle, and the game runs at 60-75 fps vs 35-45 fps before, with a radeon RX5600 GT. However, the game seems blurrier now.

ps: after switching from dx11 to dx12, the first loading was very long (stuck at 60%, and slowly increase to 100% for about 5-10min).
Yes, me too, the first loading was long.
But the game really runs better :)

Now, you have to think about setting Galaxy (for those who use it) to launch "ELEX 2" under DX12 via the "Play" button.

(sorry for my english because it's not very good)

Yep, it's a bit tricky, in manage installation > configure > features tab, you have to enable "custom executables/arguments" to be able to choose what executable you want to run by default.

Also, WATCH OUT, I suspect that GOG galaxy falls back to the DX11 exectutable each update !

Oh, it's not very complicated, but you have to look a little the first time ^^

Yes, it seems to me that the .exe is replaced on DX11 at each update.

(je viens de me rendre compte que tu es de France, j'aurais pu répondre en FR - XD )

Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle...last time I heard, they informed us they would not release the D3d12 patch for some spurious reason...and out of the blue here it is! Downloading now! People are experiencing much better performance and gameplay? Sounds great. I'll come back once I've tried it.

EDIT: Seems like a big improvement so far. Both in frame rates and rendering. Still some bugs left to fix, however. Like if Jax is wearing his hood and talks to someone, the hood comes off and is immediately restored when the interaction with the person is done. That's a distracting, remaining bug. Still, it's better than previously, imo. They completely redid the game introduction--big improvement.

Oddly, I have a much slower performance using the DirectX12 version with my 1060 card.
Starting a new game with max settings to make sure I can watch fps changes, it runs at 40 in DX11 and only 25 in DX12.
I wonder why I don't see the boost so many have noticed using the DX12 version.

Edit: Now this is weird.
After many tries launching both versions for testing, I now have a similar or slightly better framerate with DX12.
Same max settings...
I guess I should stop testing now :)

Maybe it's hardware related. I believe I've seen somewhere that the performance boost was greater with AMD gpu rather than with NVIDIA.
Well, I guess I was wrong about this game. I was so ticked off in May when they said they weren't releasing the DX12 patch that I had the game removed from my account.... I guess I look a little silly now, huh?

Seriously though, the CM said it was never coming and I was pretty furious about it. I guess never say never when it comes to PB.
EDIT: Oops, sorry, wrong thread.
