In Elex 2, is the quest related to your characters brat mandatory? Can I just let it die? I really don't want to spend any more time playing this game if a major portion is centered around a stupid child.

Many people have family issues and want nothing to do with that concept. I quit a job that I was very excited about because at the first store meeting, they said we were all a family. In that instant, I lost all interest in that company. It was like a switch was flicked off. Talking to psych friends I had, apparently using the family framework is one of those things you do not do if you want to have a successful company.
So why put it in a game? I'm guessing the idea was to make money selling this game, therefore you would want to please as many people as possible so it sells. Putting family in a game is even worse than putting religion in a game. I never would have played Fallout 4 without the mods that let you circumvent being married with a baby.

LOL. The game has problems, but Jax having a kid isn't one of them. You should probably return it. Should all games be made around your issues? Should the world bend the knee to them? We are suing members of our family, but you won't see me demanding that family aspects be removed from games in order to avoid being triggered. It seems that the claim that there is a subset of the population hellbent on destroying the concept of the family, is true.
