You wouldn't think that something as simple as opening a door or picking up a treasure would be much of a hang up, but I can't seem to do either very easily. When I come up to a treasure, I try clicking the left mouse button, but nothing seems to happen. Doors are the same, but sometimes I get lucky, and they open. I've done it in both curser and attack mode, both with my weapon drawn and put away. What am I doing wrong? I'm sure it's something super obvious, but I'm having trouble nonetheless.

First of all: check your controls. What is "Activate Center Object" bound to? Default DFU setup is left-click. But I seem to remember reading that in this GoG Cut it is set to "E" instead. (I really can not imagine why someone would want that instead of just clicking on stuff to interact with it, but I guess it is something from Skyrim?)

If not that, make sure you are in a mode that actually interacts with the world. F1 to F4 selects the interaction modes, unless that is also bound to something else.

Thanks that cleared things up. I don’t feel quite so silly. It was mapped to a weird key and I hate to just go key hunting. Anyway, all fixed

Apparently it gets reset when the game updates, so you'll have to go back and remap everything after an update. For now anyway.
