Personally, I prefer the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. I like the way it feels, the way it handles, etcetera. Other people prefer other controllers. This is the one I happen to prefer.

I am not tech-savvy. I don't know what DRM stands for. I prefer GOG to Steam.

Steam has support for the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller in its games, but GOG, from what I can tell, does not. Many games on GOG seem to work with the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, but not all of them. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim seems to be in the category of not working with this particular controller.

So far, I have tried to use WiinUPro to emulate the X-Box controller, but to no avail. I HAVE enabled the use of controllers in Skyrim's settings. So far, nothing has worked.

I was wondering if anybody out there has any working method for using the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller with the GOG version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
I searched high and low, and couldn't find anything about getting a pro controller to work with GOG games outside of a bunch of Konami games last year that were patched to work with it, and every other modern controller.

I checked Nexusmods for a controller mod, couldn't find anything.

Refined my search a bit, still nothing. At best guess, I would say you could contact support and ask if they're planning on adding fully realized controller support for their version of Skyrim.

If not, you can add the GOG version to Steam as a Steam shortcut, and get your controller working that way, though I believe this prevents you from getting achievements if you play Skyrim unmodded.
The WiinUPro google page docs seem contradictory. (It says it supports, then doesn't support Switch Pro controllers.)

In general, for per-game instances, perhaps try x360ce. (Use the 64-bit version for Skyrim SE, since it's a 64-bit game.)

For a more generic approach (like WiinUPro), you could try something that uses the vigem driver (SwitchProFeeder / ProconXInputTE), the older ScpToolkit (ProconXInput), or something even more generic, like xoutput.

Those might be usb-only. JoyCon-Driver might also be an option for bluetooth. (XOutput may work here, too. Might be easier to set up.)

Hope that helps.

FWIW, I've also used a hardware usb option before, too; a mayflash magic ns, I believe. It worked fine back when I used it, but it's been sitting in a corner somewhere, primarily because the switch pro has no analog triggers, and I haven't found a use for it for my switch. (I generally prefer the freedom of joycons.)
