Hi there,

I have a question concerning these 2 files:

Francescos Creatures and Items - V5B1
Francescos Creatures and Items - V5B2

Is there any way to know at what Character Level each creature starts appearing? More specifically, when I check the UESP:Creatures, I can read that Liches start appearing at level 26. Now I wanna be able to meet all kinds of creatures, and I assume that if I am below this level, I will not. Hence my question about Francesco (I barely started the game).

I am using KCAS Leveling mod (seemed terrific!), whcih allows you to set your own max character level. Are there possible conflicts using these 2/3 fles?

Actually, are both V5B1 + V5B2 files necessary?

I am instaling them via WB.

Thanks a lot - n

EDIT: Regarding Francesco Creatures, I just found an Original Read Me stashed somewhee insinde one of their many folders...

Hello,
There is a webpage created by the original author for the 4.5 version before the additions and changes by new authoris.

I just went back and checked it, been using it for years and the website is now gone. It had all the information you could need. The original website should still be available in html format in the readme for the mod.

Thanks I found it! I didnnt wanna miss any chance by setting my max charracter level lower than the level a creature should start appearing (in my casee 26).

Did you installl BOTH files V5B1 and V5B2 ? I think I am meant to install both, and I did.

Hello,
I did install both. Obviously the V5B2 is a very small file so all it does is change a couple files from the V5B1. So install 1 first and 2 second.

Please note that one of the things that Francescos does is make it so that if you encounter a thief at you are level 26 it won't be in top of the line armor, you could encounter a 5th level creature unlike in the base game. Also you can encounter much higher level creatures than what you would encounter in the base game. I was level 6 and ran into a minotaur lord. As you might imagine a lot of kiting and letting the swarms of guards from outside a town finally took it down. Also the mod adds a lot of new creatures to the list. You can run into the Guar from Morrowind with the mod. You can run into new boss creatures with better equipment, I've gotten very good at luring them out to get good early equipment, like mithril chain mail at level 4.

thank you! yes i am aware your encounters are not leveled, which is what i am looking for. I honestly do not care about loot rewards... i also saw you can set the magnitude of difficulty of possible encounters.

Please note that there is one really bad bug in the mod. After a while all the equipment from the leveled items list will turn into Calipers. That means everyone you encounter and all your stuff turns into calipers. There is a fix you can download and install that when you see that happen you can click on the minor power called "calipers be gone" and they will go away. I had the hardest trouble making it work because you need to add a program (OBMM?) to make it work right and I had downloaded and installed the one for Steam when I needed to GOG version of it.
If you don't want to install the fix here is the series of console commands to reset Fran's and remove the bug.

~
StopQuest FranLoot
Set FranLoot.ReSet to 1
Set FranLoot.Set to 0
Set FranLoot.DoOnce to 0
StartQuest FranLoot

Cromm... when I think I have it all figured, now this.... Many thanks, I will immediately use these commands, just in case.

Or should I uninstall Fran mods altogether?

Hello,
In something like 5 years of using the mod I've had the bug happen like 4 times. Only use the fix if you notice the problem. The leveled item list problem is very notable. When you fight someone with no armor and kill them and find nothing but calipers, you know the issue has occured. Like I said a mod called calipers be gone also will work.
