Aurelio90: Me neither! Back to the time, with my old laptop, I used to launch the game directly to the folder and everything was okay. I did the same thing in this new computer and the launcher, apparently, worked ...
Greywolf1: From your first post: "just installed the game from GOG Galaxy". I'm confused: Are we talking about Oblivion, or about Oblivion on Galaxy? And what exactly "worked"?
If Oblivion works standalone, but Oblivion crashes when launched from Galaxy, please say so.
I still don't know what the reolution of your monitor is ("Samsung Smart TV" doesn't tell me anything). Oblivion supports, for example, 1920x1080 or 1680x1050, both common resolutions, but I have no idea how it works, for example, on a 4k monitor.
And please confirm that the Oblivion launcher crashes, not the Galaxy launcher for Oblivion (another question I asked in my earlier post).
Unofficial Oblivion Patch (UOP): The UOP is a 7z archive, which you can simply extract to Oblivion\\Data. What exactly did you do, and what exactly didn't work? If you get a "name too long message, there must be something wrong with the archive, or you made a mistake when trying to extract it.
If the name of the folder you downloaded the UOP.7z file to is too long, just copy (or re-download) it to a folder having a shorter name.
If you try to launch Oblivion from Galaxy:
- If Oblivion is not installed on the drive Galaxy is installed on, then this may cause a problem. But this is just a guess - perhaps someone familiar with Galaxy could help here.
- Did you start Oblivion by running the Oblivion.exe directly?
Please understand that I can't see what you're doing and what's going on on your PC. With insufficient information all attempts to help are guesswork at best.
Sorry, only now I managed to open the computer.
About your question: I was trying to launch the game directly .exe, not from GOG Galaxy.
The TV I am using as current monitor is a Smart Monitor M5 27". Expect for Oblivion, I had no other problems with game installed in the new PC and visualized through the TV.
I made two different attempts to launch Oblivion from folder, both "vanilla" and then with UOP contents transfered into Oblivion data folder. Both the attempts failed.
