For those who don't know, there is a serious, game-breaking glitch in Oblivion where, after around 200 hours of play, the game's animations will eventually freeze, making it impossible to perform simple, essential in-game tasks like opening doors. From what I've heard, this glitch is supposedly caused by the game's timer (one of them) getting messed up/out of sync, which as a result causes the certain animations to drastically slow down or freeze altogether.
It's quite literally the worst glitch I have ever encountered in Oblivion. It has happened to me on every one of my playthroughs so far. There exists at least one fan mod out there (on Nexus, I think) that fixes this glitch by resetting the game's timer. But what I would like to know is whether or not it's possible to manually reset the game's timer through the console? Does anyone know? I ask because I'm much more comfortable using console commands rather than trying to install third party mods for games, so it would be easier for me to just fix a glitch like this through the console. But is this possible? Can it be done?
Does anyone here have any experience fixing this ungodly issue with the game?
