Perhaps I'm missing something, but I can't avoid the Tutorial. Every time I begin a new campaign, I am forced to go through it again. I've disabled the Tutorial in the settings and turned off the Tutorial messages, but it doesn't do any good.

Am I missing something?

Yes, you have to say something to the guy who helps you in the dialogue. "Well you sure took your time, Zarr" Or something like that. Then he reveals himself and the tutorial level is cancelled.

The tutorial setting just removes those text popup windows in the different screens when you see them for the first time, I think.

You need to finish tutorial at least once for this option.
Personally, I would recommend to take warrior and press F10 each battle. If you would lose battle - you will be instantly resurrected.
It is possible to finish tutorial in couple of minutes this way.
Thanks for the replies.

I've finished the Tutorial several times and enough is enough. If I have to go through it again, I just won't play the game.

As noted above, at the very beginning of the tutorial, when he introduces himself as your mentor, you just identify him by name and you can exit from the tutorial screen. This was fixed around v 1.0.5, I think.

Thanks, but this option is not offered to me and I have the latest version.

Sadly this is probably the same thing that happened in Genesis. If you are using a "New Profile" who has not done that campaign yet it will make you do it. If you have already done the campaign with this profile is when you get the option to just skip it.

Really surprising that they didn't fix one of the more annoying and obvious things when they made a "new & improved" version lol.

Greybriar, just follow Gremlion's advice--pick a Warrior and F10 your way through battles at record speed. It'll only take a few minutes and with your new profile established, you shouldn't have to do it again.
If you look in the config file in your config directory, there's a line for in there labelled 'tutorial completed'. If it's 0, set it to -1.

Now when you start the tutorial you will get the option to skip after you select your hero type! Hope this helps!
Thanks for the advice about using a warrior and the F10 key, but that isn't what I was looking for.

I can't find a config directory in the location where the game is installed or in C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Eador directory. I did find a file in C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Eador\profiles\player0 called profile.cfg but it did not have a line with 'tutorial completed' in it. Instead it contained a line which reads 'finishtutorial' but when I changed the value from 0 to -1 I was again forced to play the game tutorial.

There is another line in the C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Eador\profiles\player0\profile.cfg file which reads 'tutorialmode' but changing it did not help and I still would have to play through a tutorial.

Thanks for trying.
Hi Greybriar,

Apologies if my directions were a little less precise, long time since I did it.

To clarify: once you change the file, you will still have to start the tutorial. BUT once you choose your hero class, the next dialogue will have choice with text "you took your timing coming Zarr" or similar. If you choose this option you can bypass the tutorial and skip directly to the astral (campaign).
