Do I must redownload? I imagine I could not install if the DL was corrupt.
I already reinstalled, but it's the same with bug preventing from launching the game
(I can launch the Launcher, but when clicking on Settings or Play, it crashes).

The game (nor Config) still don't launch with 1.04, same problem.
I think this game is just not compatible with Windows 8, even with WinXP compatibility and Admininistrator rights given on all exe.
Win 8 should be removed from the game card (and refund if it's actual).
Or please make a compatibility patch.

Still the same with 1.05: can't launch the game nor the Settings.
Still can't launch, with 1.06.
All my many other games are ok..

With last dev patch (still not at GOG'), I can at last launch the Settings.
But, even with lowest graphic preset, there's an error message:
"Your video card does not support hardware acceleration. Try to update your video card driver."
(I have no problem of HW accel. with all other games)
Then I click OK, and there is the old error message (title of the post),
then the game seems launching (ok in Windows task manager), but the screen remains all black.
My card is from AMD HD Radeon 6800 Series (don't remember exactly which), with actually its last 13.4 Catalyst driver.
So, the crash is 'fixed', but I can't still really launch the game...

Eador — Patch notes (June 3) + hot fix

You have better chances for solving this by posting here http://www.snowbirdgames.com/forum/index.php?forums/eador-motbw-%E2%80%94-technical-problems.27/

I'm not sure that devs monitor this forum for bug reports.
As player Kathoum said on Eador forum:
" in Catalyst Control Center, add custom settings for 'eador_mbw.exe' and set OpenGL Triple Buffering to Off.
All the other settings can be set to the highest level"
This is in Games/3D.

Do what he said. I doubt anyone can help you here. Your problems are something the developers need to look at.
With release of "AMD Catalyst™ Driver BETA 13.8", as the release notes talk about OpenGL, I installed the beta driver and I tested the game without the fix of removing the triple buffering: The game is now ok! even with all the options to the max.
Maybe it was fixed with a last patch of the game, but it was not said in game patch notes, so I guess the bug was coming from the AMD driver..
With all other patches of the game, I can now give it 5 stars for sure. :))

Yes that's the ATI driver fault:
I changed my proc, RAM (and added some), went to Win 64b, changed my ATI 6850 to 7770, with last official driver:
The bug is here. Then I install the ATI beta driver: bug gone.

Official Catalyst 13.9 is released, and good. No longer need of beta driver.
