While playing Eador - Master of the Broken World, I got the following popup message: C:\installation folder\eador_mbw.exe.
Access violation at address 00767EB5 in module 'eador_mbw.exe'. Read of address 0000008.

I don't know what that means, but the game is frozen. The screen is visible but the interface isn't.

Patch 1.0.4 resolve this problem. Just start game and update it.

I still got an error with 1.0.4. Then I got an error with 1.0.5. Now I'm getting an error with 1.0.6.

I've given up on trying to play this game.
When is the error occurring? At startup or at some other point?

I would suggest fully uninstalling the game, then getting a new copy of the installer and patch (just to be on the safe side) from GoG and using those to reinstall/update (rather than relying on the autoupdater, the early versions of which were very unreliable).

Thanks for the reply. The errors were occurring after I had loaded a saved game.

After my previous post in this thread, I used the GOG patch to update the game. Unfortunately, GOG's patch was version 1.0.5 and when I tried to launch the game I received an error message that it was not up to date. So I used the ingame patcher and while it was downloading patch 1.0.6 I deleted the data.006.pak folder in the Eador- Master of the Broken World directory. After the game was patched, I played it without any problem.

Today the ingame updater installed patch 1.0.7 and so far everything seems to be working just fine. I suppose there was a corrupt file somewhere that the recent patches fixed.

So far, so good.
